Reporting to senior leadership, the Engineering Manager (North) will lead the safe, compliant, and commercially successful delivery of in situ geotechnical testing projects across Queensland and the broader northern region. You will provide technical leadership, oversee project execution, manage client relationships, and support business growth across key sectors including infrastructure, mining, tailings, and construction. This role combines engineering expertise, operational leadership, and commercial acumen to ensure exceptional project outcomes.
You are an accomplished geotechnical engineer with strong technical credentials and proven leadership capability. Ideally, you will hold a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline, along with significant experience in geotechnical investigations, in situ testing, and project delivery. You bring a strong understanding of contract management, quality systems, and safety leadership, coupled with the ability to build trusted client relationships and lead high-performing teams.
Your background will likely include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
- Extensive experience in geotechnical consulting, site investigation, and in situ testing
- Demonstrated leadership experience across complex projects
- Strong commercial, contractual, and stakeholder management skills
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
