The role of Manager Water and Wastewater is to lead the delivery of safe, reliable, compliant and customer focused water and wastewater services to the region. You will provide strategic advice to Council and the executive team on current and emerging water and wastewater trends and issues.

Specific knowledge and competencies will include:
- Manage the operation and maintenance of the region’s water supply and wastewater schemes.
- Plan and implement upgrades to the network and treatment plants to address current and emerging risks, achieve compliance with regulatory requirements, resolve capacity issues and meet the future demand forecasts of the region.
- Maintain and implement regulatory and operational documentation required to support the delivery of compliant services.
- Undertake timely reporting on the water and wastewater schemes to meet regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Maintain and implement tradewaste policies and procedures to minimise and/or effectively manage potential hazards to the wastewater system.
- Participate as an active member in the Regional Water Alliance group and the Queensland Water Directorate Technical Group.
- Maintain positive working relationships with government agencies, regulators, consultants and the community.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of operational plans, budgets and policies.
- Manage emergency and incident responses related to water and wastewater services and provide support to the Local Disaster Management Group as required.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to demonstrate a track record of leading an operational team strategically and with vision. You will have strong capabilities to manage key stakeholder relationships whilst continuing to build organisational capability.
You must be an active and agile leader, progressive, collaborative with strong empathy and emotional intelligence. Building and driving a multi-disciplined team to short, medium- and long-term targets. Experience and expertise in team performance, strategic planning, project management, performance reporting and stakeholder management is essential.
