This key role as Security Supervisor is responsible for supporting, implementing, and monitoring protective and physical security arrangements across the precinct. This role contributes to the effective delivery of public safety measures and asset protection strategies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all occupants and visitors.
Key responsibilities include supervising and coordinating the contracted South Bank Security Team, monitoring performance standards, ensuring compliance with operational procedures, and responding to incidents and security risks. The Security Supervisor also works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external agencies to continuously improve security outcomes and maintain best-practice standards.
As Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following;
- Oversee and manage the contracted South Bank Security Team ensuring precinct security and safety and compliance with protocols and performance standards
- Implement and enforce trauma-informed and customer-centric incident response practices
- Ensure incidents are managed, reported and reviewed in line with established procedures and reported accurately, including debriefs and lessons learned
- Partner with the contracted security services provider to develop, deliver and evaluate SOPs, protocols, security training programs and resilience exercises for the South Bank Security Team
- Assist the contracted security services provider with onboarding, induction, and interviewing new candidates for the South Bank Security Team
- Review and analyse CCTV footage to support internal and external investigations and incident reporting
- Ensure compliance with Australia's Strategy for Protecting Crowded Places from Terrorism
- Contribute to the development and implementation of security initiatives and technologies
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Emergency Services and Queensland Police Service to support coordinated security operations
- Conduct or oversee post-incident reviews, ensuring lessons learned are captured and embedded into operational practices
- Provide operational oversight of the contracted security services, with occasional ad hoc after-hours support required to meet the needs of a 24/7 environment
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum five years' experience in a security capacity
- Demonstrated leadership in a 24/7, public facing environment
- Strong incident command, decision-making and team leadership capability
- Experience supervising contracted services and ability to mentor, coach and build capability across a diverse workforce, including managing performance and training delivery
- Queensland Security Provider Licence (Unarmed, Crowd Control and Monitoring)
- Open Driver Licence / Certificate II in Security Operations
- First Aid and CPR certification / Working with Children (Blue Card)
- Knowledge of Queensland security legislation, use of force, and WHS requirements
- Understanding of crowded places security frameworks
- Familiarity with counter-terrorism principles and behaviours of concern
- Experience in risk assessment, intelligence led security, and incident investigation
