Reporting to the Financial Controller, and as part of a small finance team, this broadly scoped role is primarily responsible for the preparation and delivery of all periodic financial accounting and taxation compliance requirements for a diverse portfolio of entities within the Group. You will use your strong technical accounting skills to prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports, to monitor and analyse cashflow and variances to budgets & forecasts and to provide insightful analytical commentary for stakeholders and for the Board. Additionally, your understanding of Australian Taxation and regulatory compliance will be invaluable as you help to ensure that the enterprise continues to meet its periodic Indirect and Direct taxation compliance obligations. You will support the group’s external auditors through the year end audit process and, as a proactive member of a collegial finance team, you will be expected to form collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and contribute to ongoing process improvement projects.
This broadly scoped and hands-on role is likely to appeal to a career minded, CA/CPA qualified accounting professional who is now seeking to the next step in their professional services career. You should possess demonstrable financial accounting expertise combined with a strong technical understanding of relevant Australian accounting and taxation principles, either gained in a Business Services & Tax environment or perhaps in a similar role in industry. In either case some exposure to, or experience in, the investment/funds management sector is desirable. Previous experience with MYOB Advanced will also be well regarded.
