This is a rare opportunity to join a highly successful private enterprise which develops and manages a diverse portfolio of residential housing and community development projects across Australia. The business is managed by a highly experienced leadership team and maintains a values-driven, collaborative and down-to-earth workplace culture.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and as part of a small finance team, this broadly scoped role is primarily responsible for managing the periodic financial reporting, project accounting and all taxation compliance requirements for all entities within the Group. You will use your strong technical accounting skills to prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports, monitor and analyse cashflow and variances to budgets and forecasts and provide insightful analytical commentary to support operational decision making and business planning. You will be responsible for the preparation and lodgement of the annual income tax returns for all entities in the Group, and your detailed understanding of Australian Taxation compliance principles will be invaluable in ensuring that the enterprise continues to meet its periodic Indirect and Direct taxation compliance obligations. Additionally, you will help to coordinate the Group’s external accountants, tax advisors and auditors through the year end audit process and you will be expected to form collaborative working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
This is a broadly scoped and highly engaging role for a career minded CA/CPA qualified accounting professional now seeking the next step in their professional services career. You should possess demonstrable financial accounting expertise combined with a strong technical understanding of relevant Australian accounting and taxation principles, either gained in a Business Services & Tax environment or perhaps in a similar role in industry. Prior exposure to, or experience in, the property development sector is highly desirable. Previous experience with MYOB Advanced will also be well regarded.
