This organisation has continued to deliver on its growth-focused strategy and a unique opportunity has been created for a commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel in this business facing role.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and supporting the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide sound commercial legal advice and manage legal risk in relation to contracts with suppliers, customers, and partners. In this highly commercial role, you will:
- Provide expertise and advice to senior management and lead contract drafting and commercial negotiations;
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including NDAs, MoU’s, sales agreements, strategic alliance agreements, service agreements, licence agreements and term sheets, to achieve business objectives and allocate risk; and
- Assist with operational strategies and systems to positively impact the growth of the business while ensuring regulatory obligations and contractual compliance are satisfied.
You will be a mid to senior level commercial lawyer, currently in-house or within a high profile law firm and with exposure to a broad range of contracts, gained within a highly commercial setting. In addition, you will:
- Be a flexible, self-sufficient lawyer who thrives when working autonomously and in an independent role;
- Be detail orientated and organised, ensuring systems, processes and data are developed and efficiently maintained to meet the ongoing requirements of a growing business;
- Have exceptional drafting skills and attention to detail, balanced by strong commercial acumen and sound judgement; and
- Have an ability to translate complex legal concepts into simple and practical commercial guidance and with superior engagement skills, you will forge strong working relationships across the business as it continues to grow.
