Our Commitment


Dean & Ling Executive is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. This Modern Slavery Policy sets out our commitment to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and other forms of exploitation in our business operations and supply chains.


As a small Queensland-based recruitment business, we primarily provide professional services rather than physical products and purchase goods and services locally where possible. While our risk of modern slavery is considered low, we acknowledge our responsibility to remain vigilant and proactive.


Scope


This policy applies to:


  • All employees, contractors, consultants and agency workers of Dean & Ling
  • Executive Directors and officers
  • Suppliers, service providers and business partners


This policy covers all operations conducted by Dean & Ling Executive within Australia.


Definitions


Modern Slavery refers to situations where coercion, threats or deception are used to exploit individuals and undermine their freedom. It includes, but is not limited to:


  • Human trafficking
  • Forced labour
  • Debt bondage
  • Child labour
  • Slavery-like practices


Our Business and Supply Chain


Dean & Ling Executive is a small recruitment services provider operating in Queensland. We:


  • Deliver recruitment and workforce placement services to clients
  • Do not manufacture, distribute or sell physical products
  • Source office supplies, professional services and technology solutions primarily from local Queensland or Australian suppliers


Given the nature of our operations, our exposure to modern slavery risks is assessed as low.


Commitment and Principles


We are committed to:


  • Complying with the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 and all relevant workplace and employment laws
  • Respecting human rights and ethical labour practices
  • Working only with suppliers and business partners who share our commitment to ethical conduct
  • Acting transparently and responsibly in our operations


Risk Identification and Mitigation


While our modern slavery risk is low, we take the following steps to identify and reduce any potential risk:


  • Preferencing Australian-based and Queensland-based suppliers where possible
  • Engaging reputable recruitment, accounting, IT and professional service providers
  • Being alert to unfair labour practices, particularly in outsourced or labour-hire arrangements
  • Reviewing supplier arrangements if any concerns are identified


Recruitment and Ethical Employment Practices


As a recruitment business, we recognise a heightened responsibility to ensure fair treatment of

workers. We commit to:


  • Complying with all Australian employment, workplace health and safety, and migration laws
  • Ensuring candidates are not charged fees for recruitment services
  • Being transparent with candidates about roles, conditions and remuneration
  • Rejecting any form of exploitation, coercion, or misleading representation in recruitment practices


Reporting Concerns


Employees, contractors and third parties are encouraged to report any concerns or suspected instances of modern slavery associated with our business or suppliers.

Reports will be treated confidentially where possible, and no person will be disadvantaged for raising concerns in good faith.


Breaches of Policy


Any breach of this policy by employees or representatives of Dean & Ling Executive may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or engagement.


Where a supplier or business partner is found to be in breach of modern slavery principles, we may review, suspend or terminate the relationship.


Training and Awareness


Given the size and nature of our business:


  • Management will maintain awareness of modern slavery risks relevant to recruitment services
  • This policy will be made available to employees and contractors
  • Additional training will be provided if risk levels change or business operations expand


Policy Review


This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if:


  • There are changes to relevant laws or regulations
  • Our business operations or supply chains change materially
  • A modern slavery risk or incident is identified
